Members of Northern Neck Electric Cooperative experienced power outages Thursday evening due to the power suppliers substation fire. Practically all of Northumberland County and Lancaster County served by NNEC, along with over 943 members in the eastern areas of Richmond County, were out of power from approximately 6:30 p.m until shortly after 1:00 a.m. on Friday morning, May 28. Outage numbers totaled 8179 with 5031 members in Northumberland and 2203 members in Lancaster out of power.

Stay away from any downed power line, tree on the line or anything touching a line. Notify NNEC of any downed power lines, trees on the line, or a power outage by calling 804-333-3621 or 800-243-2860.
